Check the period and basis

VAT reports follow the business’s invoice or moneys-received basis. Confirm the dates before reviewing the figures.

Review the supporting records

Keep invoice details, costs and attached receipts close to your review. Check categories, business use and VAT treatment against the source documents.

Take the figures into your workflow

Export the reports for your working papers. NumWise prepares a VAT3 draft; you or your client file the return through ROS.

Two ways to handle client bookkeeping

Choose the handover that suits each client. Their records stay in their own workspace.

Shared workspace

Review the records as they happen.

Accept an invitation as an Accountant on Business or Professional. Use your own login to review documents, update permitted records and prepare reports. Your place counts towards the client’s people allowance.

File handover

Keep your existing working papers.

For a client on Lite or Starter, or whenever you prefer files, ask them to prepare an Accountant pack. The period’s reports, registers and available attachments come together, with an index showing any missing files.

Asked by accountants

Something else? Write to hello@numwise.eu.

Do I pay to accept an invitation?

No. Your access is part of your client’s plan and counts as one of its people.

Can I correct categories and records?

Yes. The Accountant role can create invoices, edit drafts, correct costs and work on bank matches. Issued invoices keep their original details; use a credit note for a correction. Settings, the team and billing stay with the owner and admins.

What does NumWise prepare for the VAT return?

A VAT3 draft for review, box by box, built from the recorded invoices and costs, with sales and purchases by VAT rate. You check it and file through ROS as you do today.

What format are the exports in?

Accountant pack brings the selected period into one ZIP: Excel reports and registers, available attached source documents and a document index that flags gaps. NumWise invoices and credit notes are included as source records and line items; the pack does not add separate PDFs of them. Individual reports still export to Excel or CSV.

Can my client send a pack without giving me a login?

Yes. Accountant pack is available on every plan, including Lite and Starter. Your client prepares and downloads it from Reports, then shares it with you. Preparing a pack does not send an email, lock the period or file a return.

Who pays for the workspace?

Your client. Each business has its own plan; accountant logins come with Business and Professional.
